ASEAN-Japan Comprehensive Economic Partnership Agreement (AJCEPA)

The ASEAN-Japan Comprehensive Economic Partnership Agreement (AJCEPA) is a free trade agreement between the ten ASEAN Member States and Japan. It was established to strengthen economic relations, expand market access, improve trade facilitation, and promote investment cooperation between ASEAN countries and Japan.

The agreement covers Trade in Goods (TIG), Sanitary and Phytosanitary Measures (SPS), Technical Barriers to Trade (TBT), Trade in Services, Trade in Investment, and Economic Cooperation and Trade Facilitation. AJCEPA aims to gradually establish a stronger free trade area over a ten-year period while supporting ASEAN economic integration.
