BOC-POM Calls for Timely Release of Cargoes to Ease Port Congestion
The Bureau of CustomsPort of Manila (BOC-POM) reminded importers, shipping lines, and other stakeholders to promptly release cargoes and re-export empty containers as Manila South Harbor's yard utilization remained above 70% in late April and May. The agency also urged the timely filing of declarations, payment of duties and taxes, and withdrawal of cleared shipments to help ease port congestion.
The measure is expected to ease port congestion, improve cargo movement, and strengthen trade efficiency and supply chain reliability in the Philippines.
