BOC Advances Electronic Airway Bill System for 2026 Implementation
The Bureau of Customs (BOC) is moving forward with the implementation of the Electronic Airway Bill (e-AWB), with a nationwide rollout targeted within 2026. The initiative aims to digitalize air cargo documentation, reduce processing times, minimize paperwork, and improve coordination among shippers, freight forwarders, airlines, and customs offices.
To support the rollout, the BOC recently conducted stakeholder consultations to gather industry feedback and refine the system's implementation framework. The e-AWB is expected to enhance transparency, improve data accuracy, and strengthen the Philippines' trade competitiveness by enabling faster and more efficient cargo movement.
The project forms part of the BOC's broader modernization agenda focused on digital transformation, trade facilitation, and alignment with international customs and logistics standards.
