BOC Secures P3 Billion Worth of Undocumented Tobacco Products in Agusan del Norte

Authorities uncovered around P3 billion worth of assorted cigarettes and raw tobacco materials inside 54 container vans at a container yard in Agusan del Norte, according to the Bureau of Customs (BOC). The inspection on May 8 revealed several cigarette brands, while two container vans were found carrying raw tobacco materials.

Initial findings suggested the shipments were of foreign origin. Company representatives failed to present proof of tax payments, import permits, and shipping documents during verification. Authorities have secured the container vans and placed the area under 24-hour monitoring, while further investigation is ongoing to determine possible violations.
