BOC and PNP Intercept P8.39M Methamphetamine Shipment at NAIA
MANILA - Border control authorities intercepted an estimated P8.39 million worth of suspected methamphetamine at a Ninoy Aquino International Airport cargo terminal. The illicit shipment, weighing roughly 1.2 kilograms, arrived from Uganda and was falsely manifested as auto gear bearings destined for Cavite.
According to the PNP Aviation Security Group, the contraband was discovered after X-ray anomalies prompted a physical and K-9 inspection. The Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA) has assumed custody of the narcotics to trace the smuggling network behind the shipment.
